Good to know

  • LinkedIn says how your profile cover appears can change with the size of the browser window and the screen resolution.
  • For a Page cover, LinkedIn advises placing key details away from the edges, especially the lower-right corner, and keeping important information in the center, because the image can be trimmed horizontally or vertically on different screens. It publishes no safe area rectangle, so this tool draws none.
  • If a cover looks blurry or pixelated, LinkedIn suggests choosing an image with a larger file size, and says photos look clearer than images with logos. For the best resolution on a Page it recommends a high-resolution JPEG rather than a PNG.

FAQ

LinkedIn banner FAQ

What size is a LinkedIn banner?

For a personal profile, LinkedIn recommends 1584 x 396 pixels as a JPG or PNG file under 8 MB.

What size is a LinkedIn company page banner?

The cover image of a LinkedIn Page is 1512 x 256 pixels, both as the minimum and as the recommendation, as a PNG or JPEG file of at most 3 MB.

What is the maximum file size for a LinkedIn banner?

Under 8 MB for a profile cover, and 3 MB for Page images. Pick the matching maximum in the tool and it lowers the JPG quality until the file fits.

Why is my LinkedIn banner blurry?

LinkedIn suggests choosing an image with a larger file size, notes that photos look better than images with logos, and mentions a compression tool such as Trimage or ImageOptim if it is still blurry. For a Page it also recommends a high-resolution JPEG over a PNG.

Where should I put text on my LinkedIn banner?

For a Page cover, LinkedIn advises keeping key details away from the edges, especially the lower-right corner, and putting important information in the center. The profile cover article gives no safe area, so no overlay is drawn here.

Does this resizer upload my image?

No. Your browser reads and resizes the image, and nothing is sent to Cascads or to any other server.
