Meta Graph API v22.0 is available until 20 May 2027
Meta's changelog lists Graph API v22.0 (introduced 21 January 2025) as available until 20 May 2027. Publishing to Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts, comments and insights go through the Graph API, so a scheduler, a Zapier or Make scenario, or a script that still calls /v22.0/ paths is concerned. After that date Meta does not return an error: calls are defaulted to the next oldest usable version, and behaviour changes silently.
Official date: 20 May 2027. 193 days left (UTC).

What Meta has published
Graph API v22.0 was introduced on 21 January 2025 and is listed as available until 20 May 2027. source
Each version is guaranteed to operate for at least two years. A version is no longer usable two years after the next version is released. source
Once a version is no longer usable, calls made to it are defaulted to the next oldest usable version. source
An unversioned call (no /vXX.0/ in the path) uses the version set in the app dashboard, Upgrade API Version card under Settings > Advanced. Meta recommends always specifying the version. source
The next version, v23.0, is listed as available until 8 October 2027. source
Are you affected?
Are you affected?
You publish through a tool (Cascads, Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, Metricool…)
The vendor owns the API version. Ask which version its Instagram and Facebook integration calls and whether the next one has been tested. Watch for failed posts around the date and keep the delivery responses (post identifiers).
You built your own automations (Zapier, Make or n8n HTTP module, script, plugin, in-house dashboard)
Search for "/v22.0/" in those configurations. Replace it with a version still available in the table below, read that version's changelog for the fields you use, then test one post and one insights read.
You make unversioned calls
The version comes from the app dashboard setting. Update it and add the version to your paths, as Meta recommends.

What to do before 20 May 2027
What to do before 20 May 2027
List every place that calls Meta: scheduler, Zapier, Make or n8n scenarios, scripts, plugins, internal dashboards.
Search for "/v22.0/" in those configurations, in code and in environment variables.
For each call found, move to a version still available and read its changelog for the fields you use.
Test one Instagram post, one Facebook Page post and one insights read with the new version, on a test account.
For tools you do not control, ask the vendor which version it uses and keep the delivery responses after the date.
Set the version in the app dashboard too, so unversioned calls do not drift.
FAQ
Graph API v22.0 FAQ
When does Graph API v22.0 stop working?+
Meta lists it as available until 20 May 2027.
Will my Instagram posts fail the next day?+
Not necessarily. Meta says calls to a version that is no longer usable are defaulted to the next oldest usable version. Your calls keep going, but with the behaviour of that version, which may change fields or responses. Test before the date rather than waiting for an error.
Is Instagram affected as well as Facebook?+
Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts are addressed through Meta’s Graph API versions. Check the version used for each.
I use a scheduling tool. Do I have to do anything?+
The vendor carries the version. Ask which one it calls and whether the next one has been tested, then watch for publishing failures around the date.
Which version should I move to?+
Any version still available in the table. The newest one your tool or library supports gives the longest runway: Meta guarantees each version for at least two years.
